Tamara Jelača

Tamara Jelača (1973), graduated in 1996 from the Faculty of Applied Arts and Design in Belgrade (Textile Department). She works in a field of textile and mixed-media visual arts. She was a member of Society of Applied Artists and Designers of Serbia (ULUPUDS 1996-2023) and Droitwich Arts Network, 2014-2020.

She organised several art mail projects (Droitwich Mail Art).

Tamara worked with art group LUM (Lavatory of Artistic Mind) and was a member of “Punctum of Art Experiment” art association and RERNA art space, where she worked on various projects in collaboration with other professional artists and amateurs.

Tamara was taking part in numerous group exhibitions and projects in Serbia and abroad (Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Sweden, Germany, France, Spain, Bolivia, South Korea, Turkey, United Kingdom). She is organising the annual mail art projects (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019). 

In 2004 she has been in Estonia as an artist in residence in cultural centre MoKS (Mooste KülalisStuudio).

Her 6-piece tapestry “Mouth by Mouth” is part of the collection of tapestries at “Atelje 61” in Novi Sad, Serbia.
